You gotta love their sense of humor.

Ok, so I was one of the half-dozen guys who didn't play Duke Nukem. I remember when it came out, and I know it's FPS, but what's the general allure of the game? Obviously, it's gory and has a sense of humor. Is there anything else you can tell me about why people liked it so much?

The reason I ask is I'm thinking about getting it when it comes out. I'm obviously gonna play the demo before I buy, but I would like to know a little more from the perspective of nostalgic fans as to what attracted them to the title.

Oh my God, Duke Nukem with co-op????? I'm so down. I cannot WAIT to get back into this game.

@ FG - Its hard to explain why I liked the game so much, probably that it was one of the two first shooters that I ever played (the other being Doom II). Its a lot of fun, has a very dirty sense of humor, and in co-op is guaranteed to be quite a good time. I'd say just try the demo and try for yourself.

I'm probably one of the few that didn't think this game was all that great. The one liners were good but there really wasn't anything special about it for me. Co-op is a given and that'll be a great selling point. If I can ever get MS to unlock my account to give them money, I may get this one.

Agreed, its a hard question to answer Fedora. I never really played it much, but it wasn't the same shooter as every other one out at the time.

No, it's not just Duke Nukem with co-op. It's Duke Nukem with co-op, saved films, and gameplay rewind (sounds kinda like Prince of Persia Sands of Time rewind where you can undo undesirable outcomes). tongue.gif
Actually this updated version of Duke Nukem 3D sounds way better than the original. laugh.gif

    The memories.

Ugh, Ugh, ugh, where is it? Ugh, ugh, ugh....

Remember, if anyone in the match says the words "Hail to the king baby", it is everyone's mission to obliterate that person, ESPECIALLY if they just pick up a pistol. Not dum dums, they're cool.

    "Hail to the king baby"

Only Bruce Campbell is allowed to say that. laugh.gif

Its time to kick ass and chew bubble gum and I'm all out a gum!

  9. O3Infinyte says:

Fedora - the thing I liked was before it even went FPS the game was just a good side scrolling game on PC that had some funny one - liners mixed in through out. Like Flo, this was one of my first shooting games that I'd ever played and I think that alone is a reason for nostolgia. biggrin.gif

Any word on when this will be released?
I cant see it on xbl

  11. FedoraGuy says:

Aussie's obviously aware this game is out since it's on his card, but I just wanted to say that it is out and it's a blast! I now get to experience the zany humour and sometimes migraine-inducing 'old school' difficulty where I wander around a map for twenty minutes, unsure where to go until I stumble onto a crack in the wall or a button I failed to activate the first five times I saw it. rolleyes.gif

  12. Xelliz1 says:

oh my...just noticed this was out. I remember playing this game in high school...and I literally mean IN high school. I may have to get and get online for some matches!

I hadn't played a duke nukem since it was a side scroller. it makes me want to play wolfenstein.
