Since more and more people are asking questions, it sounds like it’s time to make a post about the MGC GamerCard service.
First, let me apologize for not posting about this sooner, but my attention has been mostly focused on testing and attempting to resolve the issues.
Over the weekend, a number of upgrades had taken place to the existing servers. It seems that all of them have been impacted in some way, but none moreso than the ‘primary’ GamerCard server, which has taken on some very odd issues. Most of the up-and-down nature of the servers have been due to me attempting to dive into what the deal is.
Just be aware that I am absolutely on top of it, and actively attempting to solve it. Most of my waking hours have been devoted to investigation and testing, and I haven’t had more than 4 - 5 hours of sleep any night this week. Since any changes I make require at least 30 - 60 minutes of ‘warm-up’ time to gauge the effects, it’s been fairly slow-going. One large downside to being the creator of many of the technologies that make much of MGC possible is that there are often no resources to consult when things go wrong!
In the interim, I’ve brought up one of the older servers to help deal with the load. This will also give me an opportunity to study how it holds up versus the current machines, once it starts serving a decent number of requests. Right now I don’t know if it’s Operating System-related, webserver-related, interpreter-related, etc. Once I get more data, I can potentially fix the problem once and for all.
I deeply thank you for your patience. Things will likely be bumpy for the next few days, but be assured that I’ll do everything in my power to get things running as smoothly as you’re used to.

I just noticed today my gamercard wouldn't show. Thanks for letting us know!
So dedicated to this, awesome job.
Any chance that the gamercards in the future will have the veteran status on them instead of just seeing them on the xbox?
Finally...Bro, this little bit of info should NOT, be this hard to find.
They were fixed for a while and now they're down again.
yeah my normal link is fixed
(sometimes not but that doesnt mattyer) but the custom does not... (except very sometime)
None of our gamercards are working on Game-pad.net either on peoples profiles or custom ones set by users themselves on the forums.
I would rather you take your time and fix it correctly then just quick fix it today and have it broken tomorrow. Thanks for what you are doing.
Why wont the NXE Gamer Card update My Avatar?
тьлоо
ah yes I was just searching around this forum and I have the same problem as Zizzla 150, I was recently messing about with editing my avatar, and my NXE image theme generated from your excellent site I use on my blog (agoners.wordpress.com) & some webpages now won't update my avatar for days now. Which is kinda frustrating as the current one was just an experimental avatar that really doesn't look much like me!
How does a person end up with duplicate games in their gamerscore tag?
For example, the user Stallion83 on your leaderboard has the game Eragon listed twice, on 1/25/2008 and 12/4/2006.
These are games that are released in different locales (such as North America vs Japanese or European releases) or platforms (Xbox Live and Games for Windows). Sometimes Microsoft assigns them specific names to identify the difference; other times, as with Eragon, they do not.
just tried to get my gamercard back on my desktop after my pc crashed horrificly and its saying that there is a problem with the service is this the same problem that was happening over july/august
thanks for any info given
